First Blue Oasis certification awarded to Mautourco

We are pleased to announce that Mautourco has been awarded the national Ecolabel Blue Oasis, which recognises our company as the first Sustainable Destination Management Company in Mauritius delivered by the Mauritius Standards Bureau.

Mauritius Standards Bureau (MSB) has introduced the STMSCS whereby Hotels & Accommodations and Tour Operators are certified as per the Standard MS 165 (Sustainable Tourism Management System) labelled as the Blue Oasis, an internationally GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) standard.

Mautourco has embarked on a Sustainability journey for the past 4 years now thanks to the commitment of the whole team. This recognition has been made possible with the support of our partners and suppliers who adhered and implemented our Sustainability and Quality Standards. Indeed, these horizontal and vertical synergies have finally helped us to deliver ecological and unique experiences to our guests leaving a handprint for the destination.

This journey leads us today to be the happy holders of this first Sustainable label ever awarded in Mauritius. We encourage all Mauritian tourism stakeholders to follow suit as it is essential that we all do our part for a positive impact.

The Mauritius Standards Bureau is a parastatal body operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives. About MS165 standards – Blue Oasis
The Mauritius Standards Bureau (MSB) has introduced the STMSCS whereby Hotels & Accommodations and Tour Operators operating within the Mauritian jurisdiction and territories, are certified as per the Standard MS 165 (Sustainable Tourism Management System) labelled as the Blue Oasis. Since 26 April 2019, the MS 165 standard has gained full recognition by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Hence, organisation obtaining the Blue Oasis label can claim they are conforming to an internationally GSTC recognized standard.
