Overview of Excursion:
This is a perfect tour to expand your knowledge of the origins, flavours and history of the Mauritian tea culture. We will also take you to a beautiful 19th century colonial house built from reclaimed ship wood. Your lunch break will be followed by a trip to a stunning 3.5-hectare nature park.
You will weave your way through the verdant tea plantations of Bois Chéri to a tea factory and museum that will give you a first-hand knowledge about how this staple brew is produced and processed. While at the two-centuries-old period house in Saint Aubin, you can take time to visit the Gallery, Rum House, Vanilla House and Anthurium Greenhouse, among others. Your last stop on this beautiful journey will be at La Vanille Nature Park, which provides a diverse habitat for various species of plants, animals and reptiles, including crocodiles and giant tortoises.
