Reasons to visit Mauritius: Not only beaches and tanning!

None can ignore that over and above our beautiful beaches, Mauritius has a lot more to offer! For sure it is well-known for its deep-sea fishing, Scuba diving and numerous sea activities and much more ….

Indeed, follow us into our lands and you will be surprised by the flora and fauna. You must have certainly heard of the Seven Coloured Earth, a curiosity of nature. An unmissable stop at Chamarel where the spectacular view along the winding roads, will leave you in awe. Not far you may venture into an endemic forest, Ebony’s forest where you may come face to face with several species of birds if it is your lucky day or even help with reforestation by planting a tree.

Our waterfalls, the Sept Cascades or Rochester Falls showcasing our mountains are waiting for you to be refreshed after a trail. Each year at different dates, nature trails are organized offering the discovery of the inlands of our beautiful Mauritius. The more adventurous ones can attempt climbing our mountains and find comfort on reaching their tops and be stunned by the panorama offered in different areas of our island. Our hikers are not left out as Mauritius also offers interesting outings from Black River Gorges or along Grande Riviere Sud Est … across sugar cane fields, forests, along the cliffs…. A true discovery at each corner. Outings around the island of Mauritius are equally available for those who prefer bicycle rides.

Our dormant volcano, The Trou aux cerfs at the centre of the island, is worth a short visit, whereas the Souffleur, magnificent natural site situated in the south, will fascinate each and everyone. Amateurs of horse racing, the second oldest racecourse in the world, the Champ de Mars, awaits you for crazy betting in a warm local atmosphere.

Whether you are a fan of the Dolce far niente or a sport addict, Mauritius island has much to offer for your delight.

We are waiting for you!
